Role: Part Time Freelance Social Media Manager NOT AN ACTIVE LISTING

SNACK is hiring a Part Time freelance Social Media Manager to work closely with the editor and graphic designer, promoting our leading monthly arts & culture magazine.

You’ll develop appropriate creative ideas and concepts for promoting each issue and put them into practice by creating and scheduling posts.  You’ll be responsible for maintaining and growing the social media identity of the publication and brand.

The work requires creative flair, plus a professional approach to communication and deadlines.

Requirements

  • A good knowledge of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
  • A keen interest in digital marketing and building a career in this area.
  • A creative mind and a flair for creating zippy, engaging copy.
  • That you’re enthusiastic and proactive.
  • Good with proofing copy, spelling and grammar.
  • Inclusive and considerate

A good knowlage of the Scottish Arts would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Planning social media content
  • Scheduling social media posts
  • Engaging and building platform followers and interaction
  • Other non-social media tasks such as updating website content, creating blogs, etc.

Working with the editor, you’ll develop appropriate creative ideas and concepts for each issue and put them into practice designing the magazine.  You’ll be responsible for maintaining and growing the visual identity of the publication.

The work requires creative flair, the abilty to work closely to brief, up-to-date knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, and a professional approach to communication and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Designing each monthly issue of SNACK magazine.
  • Checking work to ensure files are print ready; fonts, images etc.
  • Creating social media graphics to promote the magazine and SNACK brand.
  • Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts.
  • Proofreading to produce accurate and high-quality work.
  • Designing adverts to client briefs.
  • Checking artwork submitted by clients is to the correct specification and liaising with advertising and other clients as and when the need arises.
  • Working as part of a team with editors, printers, copywriters, illustrators and more.
  • The ability to create digital illustration work is desirable but not essential.
  • Being open to feedback and willing to make changes to your designs.
  • Owning the design process from start to finish.
