Richy Muirhead, SAMAs Director, said: “It is exciting to be bringing the SAMAs back for the ninth year and announcing the nominees for 2018 today. This year’s nomination shows the incredibly diverse music culture that exists across Scotland. The SAMAs will be a giant celebration and opportunity for many people to discover new and exciting artists.”

The awards ceremony takes place on Thursday 25th October at St. Luke’s in Glasgow. Ahead of that the SAMAs have teamed up with Eventbrite UK to host an intimate music seminar & live performance.

Kobi Onyame, Help Musicians Scotland and more speakers will debate the strong community within hip-hop, DIY music, the city of Glasgow, collaborations & way more. The night will also include a live performance from a previous SAMA winner Kid Robotik.
