RESONATE, Scotland’s music conference event, announces the first wave of guest speakers

RESONATE, Scotland’s music conference event for industry professionals, musicians, students, fans and aspiring artists, has announced the first wave of guest speakers for the sixth edition of their open-to-all event at Platform, Glasgow on Thursday, 24th November.

The keynote speaker is icon Nemone Metaxas, founder of the award-winning BBC 6 Music show Journeys in Sound. Her Electric Ladyland show has been a staple on the BBC for over 15 years and has played a pivotal role in unearthing electronic talent. Metaxas will discuss her expansive career, her role in vocalising mental health awareness, and supporting talent in marginalized groups of society and more.

BBC Introducing’s Phoebe Inglis-Holmes will be host for the evening and will be joined by a panel industry heavyweights such as Spotify’s Lucy Blair, Aly Guillani of Bandcamp, Steinberg mixer and engineer Andrew Sappo.

Speakers also include award-winning composer Hannah Peel, Codie Childs from Playstation Studios, Cecilia Chan of Wasserman manager of LF System, Mark Ronson and Above and Beyond Glasvegas manager Denise Allan, Nordoff-Robbins supremo Donald MacLeod, Nick Cronin of Vagrant Real Estate and Bright Things PR’s Jess Partridge.

Not to mention producer Sanjeev Mann, and Sillars and Rachel Johnson from Pop Girlz.

RESONATE’s diverse programme boasts panels, workshops, 1-2-1 sessions and ample opportunity for connecting with industry professionals. The programme culminates in Resonate Live, a celebration the strength and depth of Scotland’s musical landscape. Applications are still open for artists to be considered to perform at Resonate Live until Thursday 28th September, and you can apply here.
