Where: Various Venues, Edinburgh
When: 28th April till 8th May
Catch Edinburgh Tradfest at the end of this month and revel in the past, present, and future of traditional music. As well as performances from over 100 artists, there’ll also be workshops, including ‘Storytelling Science & Nature’ led by wordsmith Susan Strauss, who channels creative ecology.
Some performances to look out for include incredible cellist Juliette Lemoine, nu-folk singer-songwriter Zoë Bestel, plus Ailie Robertson’s birdsong and folk music fusion.
The Scots Opera Project is also taking part, presenting Marjory Kennedy-Fraser and Granville Bantock’s Celtic folk opera that’s been going since 1924, The Seal-Woman. Expect Hebridean melodies and shapeshifters.
