TRNSMT 2020 Festival Cancellation Announcement.

The organisers of TRNSMT festival today announced the cancellation of their 2020 festival.

Their announcement on social media did not mention the COVID-19 pandemic directly but says that the cancellation was “due to comments made by the First Minister of Scotland during the daily briefing on 23rd April”. *

They say they are gutted about the decision but that it was unavoidable in order to protect the health and safety of their fans, artists, staff and community.

In their statement they say they are working hard to try to get their 2021 lineup as close to the 2020 lineup as possible and will be making an announcement on this in the next two weeks.

Ticket holders will be able to hold on to their ticket and roll it over to the 2021 festival or request a refund.

The 2021 TRNSMT Festival will take place on the weekend of 9th – 11th July.

Update: The TRNSMT press team have been in touch, saying ‘To clarify, the reason TRNSMT is unable to go ahead as planned is, of course, due to the Covid-19 global pandemic. Today’s cancellation has been made, following yesterday’s updated and clear advice, given by the FM of Scotland.’
