Trousdale at St Luke’s, Celtic Connections, February 1st 2026 (gig review)

Trousdale are the powerpuff girls of Americana folk. Beautiful outfits, beautiful harmonies and most of all a beautiful message about self love and womanhood.

This was my first time at St Luke’s and all I can say is wow. I might be preaching to the converted here but the church turned gig venue was truly a divine space to listen to live music. Nothing felt more natural in the surroundings, than hearing the crisp, choral, almost angelic 3 piece harmonies from Los Angeles-based indie folk trio Trousale.

Quinn D’Andrea, Georgia Greene and Lauren Jones make up the glorious triangle that is Trousdale. Having met at university and started singing together almost 10 years ago, they have recently found success on TikTok, going viral with covers of well loved songs such as The Beach Boys ‘Wouldn’t it be Nice’ and Neil Young’s ‘Old Man’.

In this set, their cover of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘The Chain’ was absolutely unreal but it was thier own original songs that struck a cord with me. in particular, the performances of ‘Wouldn’t Come Back’ and ‘Second Hand Smoke’ spoke to my soul, making me feel big feelings with their raw, honest takes on sensitive but important subject matters such as burnout, family struggles and heartbreak. However, Trousdale are far from a doom and gloom, cathartic cry, kind of band and songs like ‘The Ick’ and ‘Save Me’ brought silly, fun energy which is reflective of the band’s bubbly personality that we saw during the set.

There was a great energy between the band and the Glasgow crowd and when Quinn pulled out a bottle of Buckfast they became honorary Glaswegians. Having played King Tuts not so long ago, August 2025, it was cool to see them back in Glasgow in a bigger venue and hopefully getting a bit more of a Scottish following as part of the Celtic Connections line up. Fingers crossed the frequent visits continue because I would absolutely love to see them again.
