Review: Jodie Nicholson – Second Sun (live at The Old Church Studio)

Rising Hurworth-on-Tees soloist, Jodie Nicholson’s heartfelt, acoustic rendition of her folky hit ‘Second Sun’, has me hanging on to its every moment.

The verses’ tender vocals cascade over the ears, creating an effect that makes the chorus feel massive, despite being constructed of only voice and acoustic guitar.

The video was filmed at The Old Church Studio, based out of a church in Northumberland. The space and the stained-glass enhances the transcendent quality of this tear-jerking reimagination of a beautiful piece of songwriting.
