SAMA Paisley Takeover returns for 2022


On Friday 22nd April, SAMA will return to Paisley for their annual music festival: SAMA Paisley Takeover. This year’s event will take place at The Bungalow.

During the day, the festival will host a free industry panel titled ‘Unlocking Artist Opportunities In 2022’. The panel will take place at 3pm in The Bungalow and explore artist development opportunities within music publishing, radio play, media and the live sector. The speakers are Kenny Lavelle (SNACK mag), Susan Montgomery (23rd Precinct Music / Resonate Music Conference), Sophie Reilly (BBC Music Introducing), Kitti (Artist), Moderated by Richy Muirhead (SAMA).

In the evening, festival attendees can count with three performances by Scottish artists. This year’s live showcase puts a focus on jazz, improv, and soul with performances from corto.alto, Nathan Somevi, and kitti, WINNER of Best Vocalist at The Scottish Jazz Awards 2020 and WINNER of Best Female Breakthrough Artist at The Scottish Music Awards 2020. 

Richy Muirhead, SAMA founder and event producer said: “The Paisley Takeover is one of the key events in the SAMA programme and we are thrilled to be returning in real life with a range of panels and performances for the fifth edition of the event. Paisley has such a great musical history and the community always show up to listen and embrace to new artists!”
