Single Review: Muhammad Ali by Escape Goats

Escape Goats are a new band from Glasgow, or ‘just north of London’, as the press release for their debut single cheekily claims. On first listen, ‘Muhammad Ali’ is a song about no longer caring. After repeated spins, it’s more like an exasperated outburst at the impossibility of making a difference. But should you care about a song about not caring? When it’s performed with as much passion, fight, and punk rock panache as ‘Muhammad Ali’: you’ve got no choice.
