Folxlore is back for its final season. The award-winning queer horror podcast from spoken word theatre company In The Works (all-queer-most-trans) and Tin Can Studio blends spoken word, audio fiction and experimental sound design.
Centred on Scottish queerness and creativity, Folxlore asks the question ‘If paranoia is common sense, how can you tell if you’re being unreasonable?’ So it’s guaranteed to make many feel seen in an unnerving yet strangely satisfying way (or perhaps I am projecting).Â
This season’s theme reveal promises tales of queer time, and nostalgia, with writer and co-producer Bibi June hinting of ‘immigration paperwork, burnout, bad club nights, melancholy’. It’s not too late to spice up your podcast rotation and wash your dishes with some sublimely spooky and unsettlingly beautiful tales. Spring isn’t all bunnies and chocolate eggs; what’s rebirth without death?
