Treen Edinburgh – A Killer Wardrobe Without Killing the Planet

If you read my last vegan article you will know how frustrating I’ve found hunting for vegan clothing in Edinburgh. Well the vegan deities have answered my calls and as my article hit the shelves, so have a ton of beautiful vegan clothes all sustainable and ready to slot right into my wardrobe. Ethical landlords get in touch, Treen a vegan fashion retailer is popping up for three months in St Stephens Street, Stockbridge, Edinburgh and is looking for their permanent home.

For a small curation they manage to cover a lot of what you need, with a select range of shoes, jewellery, underwear and fashion with relaxed styles through to office / brunch or a night out. Currently they only offer women’s clothes, though I’m told men’s could be in the pipeline in the future.

The clothes themselves are all ethical sustainable companies, this is definitely the epitome of slow fashion; beautiful pieces to fall in love with and cherish. Yes that does mean you won’t find a bargain here, but your conscience won’t have to pay a price at least.

Some of the brands I spotted included Mud Jeans, Wills Vegan Shoes, Dauntless NYC, underprotection, oh seven days. Teens message hits all the right spots for me ‘A Killer Wardrobe Without Killing the Planet.’ Clothes currently range from XS-L.

The owner Cat Anderson is truly passionate about her range, having been veggie all her life and vegan since 2015. Cat first imagined Treen when she was working for Reiss in Hong Kong – a market that adored cashmere and high end leather – she realised that her values just didn’t match up with her day job. So, being a budding entrepreneur, she took her passions and her skillset and there came Treen.

She’s doing what any new fashion retail business should aim to do, carefully crafting her favourite brands, starting small and selecting ones she’s loved personally. She’s opening up doors to present and future vegan sustainable shoppers to fall in love with them too.

Make sure to give Cat and Nessie (her puppy) a visit over in Stockbridge, currently they are based at Space at Seventeen, 17 Stephen Street, Edinburgh. follow them on Instagram shoptreen_ or shop online at https://shoptreen.com
