Scottish Alternative Music Awards 2022 – 8th December, Saint Lukes, Glasgow

SAMA’s prize-giving ceremony this year isn’t pulling any punches. VLURE, The Honey Farm and Becky Sikasa are all performing, and what better way to celebrate the nominees and Scottish music than with some belting acts? Also, radio presenter and DJ Jim Gellatly and incredible writer, performer and educator Leyla Josephine (who we interviewed in our October issue) are hosting, you’ll definitely be in safe hands.

The awards this year include Best Live Act, Best Hip Hop, Best Newcomer, Best Acoustic, Best Metal, Best Electronic and Best Rock/Alternative. All nominations are put forward by a team of promoters, programmers, broadcasters, podcasters, editors, writer and artists from places like Jupiter Rising, Scotland in Colour and Time Out. Nominations will be released mid-November, and the winners will be chosen by the public (you!) via online vote later in the month.

The Honey Farm

Previous SAMA Alumni often find a home at SNACK, so we’re excited to see who’s nominated to win the coveted titles this year.
